I’m officially excited about the Electricomics project, specifically about the fact that it’s open source. That means that anyone (including me) can download and modify the code. And that means that it’s possible to experiment with electricomics as a new art form, and try out things that the original creators of the project hadn’t thought of. Not because of any shortcoming on their part – and the official debut samples were very formally inventive – but because the ability to combine words and pictures in electronic form is so full of possibilities. Comics is a huge undiscovered landscape, electricomics doubly so.
Yippee! (That’s what excited people say, isn’t it?)
